Death on the Docks
(Sep 1982)

"From what I hear there's a contract out on a cop...name of Callahan."

For "Dirty Harry" Callahan, it's a labor of hate when he busts a labor racketeer!  There are some guys in this world even dirtier than Harry Callahan.  Like union czar Matt Braxton, the biggest deal on the docks.  He's corrupt enough to be cozy with the Mob, rich enough to afford friends in the highest places, and ruthless enough to kill anything that stands in his way.  Dirty Harry's standing there all right-and he doesn't intend to give an inch.

6 Shots, Or Only 5?
**

After his Texas vacation, Harry's back on his home turf of San Francisco.  Unfortunately, it's a somewhat bland homecoming.  The story exists mainly as a back-and-forth between Harry and some crooked Union leaders that control the docks.

Ultimately, Harry ends up following the Union leader to the Caribbean, where he fends off a small army at the airport and tracks him to his island hideaway.  This, however, after spending the majority of the story fending off attack after attack by hitmen.  Harry does get a chance to go undercover, which is where he first learns that he is a target, and find himself in a rowdy barroom brawl on the docks.

Unfortunately, the entire Caribbean section, when things finally start to pick up, seems better suited to James Bond than Dirty Harry.
